PATTERSON SCHOOL OF SKETCHING PROSPECTUS

The Prospectus was published in 1934 by Frank Patterson to advertise his School of Sketching. It was a corresp[ondence course, based at his home at Pear tree farm at Billingshurst.

The prospectus is in booklet form 130x40, with a brown card cover enclosing 14 printed pages, fifteen of which are illustrated with a Patterson pen and ink drawing.

THESE BOOKLETS ARE ORIGINALS AND NOT REPRINTS

It is worth remembering that the drawings were ones he liked best and was most proud of. Whether the School of Sketching was a success or not, we have no way of knowing. What we can say with certainty is that the prospectus is a direct link to the artist and is a delightfully evocative reminder of the past and ia an offer that cannot be repeated.

The grounds of the estate adjoined those of Pear tree farm. The exhibition was a huge success visited by cyclists and artists from all over the world.
A catalogue was produced for the exhibition in A5 format and contained 10 examples of the artists work aswell as listing the 115 pen and ink drawings on display.
A limited number of these unique catalogues are being made available.
